Quit Smoking Tips that work

1-Decide on a date you are going to stop and make sure you start on that day.

2-Prior to D DAY remove all cigarettes ,ashtrays and any other smoking devices  from your house car shed or where ever you put them .Don’t keep some for just in case remember this is your last day of your life as a smoker tomorrow your new life begins embrace it with excitement.

3- If you can  try and get a friend to quit with you that way you can each support each other at a moment of weakness.

4- Let everybody know that you are quitting you will be surprised how much support and understanding you will get from people.This is just another motivational step ,after all you wouldn’t want to tell every one in a loud voice that you quit and take it up again tomorrow you’d look like a fool and nobody likes to look like one.

5- understand well ahead what to expect after you give up cigarettes you have to be prepared for the changes that will occur when you stop smoking.

6-Write a list of all the reasons why you gave up smoking and keep it with you at all times so when the craving starts you can pull it out and reinforce the reasons you stopped smoking.

7 -The hardest thing will be dealing with nicotine withdrawals-  it could take up t0 15 min and this is the time that you want be real busy. The idea is simply to distract your self until the craving is gone .So plan ahead ,work out what step you can take that will  keep you busy  .

8-In the early day of your quitting don’t drink coffee ,don’t drink alcohol these items associate themselves with smoking .

9- Try to avoid hanging around a crowd of smokers your friends will understand

10- Drink lots of water,fresh fruit juice helps clear the poisions outt of your system faster.

11- Exercise if you can, it helps.

12 – Try deep breathing in from your nose and out through your mouth in a controlled method.

13 - Positive affirmation -Make a list of all the good things you will gain by not smoking. eg you’ll feel better ,breath better ,save money ,live longer,don’t smell like an ashtray no wrinkly  skin or yellow teeth etc…

14 -Here’s a tip from someone who wrote to me and said  HEY  If you really wanna quit just get few cigarette butts in a jar fill it with water and shake now every time you want to smoke  just sniff it and that will be enough to make you wanna puke.

15 - Do a search online and find what others have done to quit  try Yahoo answers for example.

Don’t get discouraged .In the US there are more EX SMOKERS  then smokers meaning if they can do it so can you .
